Introduction
Truline General Contracting LLC (“Truline,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our services or visit our website. It also explains your choices and rights regarding your information. We adhere to industry regulations and best practices, including applicable state privacy laws and SMS messaging guidelines (e.g., CTIA guidelines for text messaging). By using our services or providing us with your information (including your phone number), you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to provide our services and communicate with you. The types of information we may collect include:
- Contact Information: Your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address. This information is typically collected when you fill out a form on our website, contact us via email/phone, or enter into a service contract with us.
- Service Details: Information related to the services you request or projects we undertake for you (e.g., property address for service location, project specifications).
- Payment Information: If you purchase services from us, we may collect payment details (such as credit card number or other payment data) to process transactions securely.
- Communication Records: Copies of your communications with us, such as emails, inquiries, or text messages, and any feedback you provide.
- Website Usage Data: When you visit our website, we may automatically collect basic technical information (like IP address, browser type, and pages visited) via cookies or similar technologies to help improve our site’s functionality and user experience. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies if you prefer.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for legitimate business purposes and to serve you better. Specifically, Truline may use your information to:
- Provide and Improve Services: Schedule appointments, deliver contracting services (e.g., roofing or remodeling work), and manage projects at your location. We also use information to improve our offerings and customer experience.
- Communicate with You: Contact you about your requests, send confirmations or updates about ongoing projects, and respond to your inquiries. This includes sending important service-related notifications (such as appointment reminders or weather-related schedule changes) and, with your consent, marketing communications about new services or promotions.
- SMS/Text Messages: If you have provided your mobile number and consent (see SMS Communications and Consent below), we may send you text messages for scheduling, updates, or marketing purposes.
- Process Payments: Use payment details to bill for services and process transactions securely (for example, through our payment processor).
- Maintain Safety and Legal Compliance: Monitor and prevent fraud, security incidents, or other malicious activity. We may also use your data as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations.
- Internal Records and Analytics: Keep business records and perform data analysis to understand customer needs and improve our business operations and website. This may involve aggregating information (so it no longer identifies you personally) to analyze trends or performance.
We will only use your personal information for the purposes outlined above. If we need to use your data for any additional purpose, we will seek your consent or ensure we have a valid legal basis to do so.
Third-Party Sharing and Disclosure
We value your privacy and do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share customer information only in limited circumstances, as described below, and always with appropriate safeguards:
- Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party partners who perform services on our behalf and help us run our business. Examples include payment processors, email or text message delivery services, scheduling software, and cloud storage providers. These parties only receive the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it solely for our specified purposes.
- Legal Requirements and Protection: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with legal process, (b) enforce our contracts or policies, or (c) protect the rights, property, or safety of Truline, our customers, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a future merger, acquisition, sale of business assets, or financing, your information may be disclosed to the parties involved (e.g., a prospective buyer or investor) as part of due diligence or transferred as part of the transaction. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure the recipient honors the commitments made in this Privacy Policy.
- No Third-Party Marketing: We do not share or sell your personal information with third-party companies for their own marketing or promotional purposes. In particular, no mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing/promotional use. All sharing of information mentioned in this policy excludes any text messaging opt-in data or consent; we will never disclose your consent details or mobile information to outsiders for any purpose. This means your phone number and your agreement to receive texts from us are kept strictly confidential and used only to serve you directly.
SMS Communications and Consent
We take compliance with SMS (text message) regulations seriously and follow best practices to respect your preferences and privacy in mobile communications. Truline uses a registered 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone number for business texting, which helps ensure our messages are delivered reliably and in accordance with carrier requirements. We abide by industry standards established by mobile carriers and the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) to protect consumers from spam or unwanted messages.
- Obtaining Your Consent: We will only send you marketing or promotional text messages if you have opted in to receive them. “Opting in” may involve signing up via an online form, checking a box consenting to SMS updates, or providing your phone number for the purpose of receiving texts (for example, requesting a quote or project update via text). By providing your phone number to Truline, you consent to receive text messages from us related to our services, appointments, project updates, and occasional marketing offers. We will make it clear at the point of collection (such as on a web form) that by providing your number you agree to receive texts from Truline.
- Message Frequency: Text messages from us will be limited and relevant. We strive not to bombard you with texts, and you can expect only occasional messages, primarily when necessary to serve you or when you have expressed interest.
- Standard Rates: Standard messaging and data rates may apply to texts we send or that you send to us, according to your mobile plan. Truline does not charge any additional fees for SMS messages, but you are responsible for any fees charged by your mobile carrier (if any).
- Opt-Out – How to Stop Receiving Texts: Your SMS consent is voluntary, and you have the right to withdraw it at any time. If you no longer wish to receive text messages from us, you can opt out easily. To opt out, simply reply to any Truline text message with the word “STOP.” You may also reply “UNSUBSCRIBE” or “QUIT,” as our system will recognize these standard opt-out keywords as well. Once we receive your opt-out request via text, we will promptly remove you from our text messaging list and you will no longer receive SMS communications from us (aside from a final confirmation message, if applicable, acknowledging your opt-out). Alternatively, you can also email the word “STOP” to admin@truline.org (or call us) and request that we stop texting you, and we will manually disable your number for SMS. There are no penalties or charges for opting out of texts.
- Confirmation and Help: If you opt in to receive SMS, we may send a welcome message confirming your subscription. If at any time you need assistance or have questions about our texts, you can reply “HELP” to a message and we will respond with instructions on how to contact our support, or you can reach out to us directly for help.
We maintain records of your consent and opt-out choices to ensure we honor your preferences. Our SMS practices are designed to be compliant with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and carrier requirements. We want you to feel in control of the messages you receive from us, and we will not send you texts that you have not agreed to receive.
Data Security Measures
Truline General Contracting LLC takes reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the security of your personal information. We implement industry-standard security practices to safeguard data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include, for example:
- Encryption & Secure Protocols: Sensitive data (like payment information) is encrypted during transmission over the internet (e.g., via SSL/TLS) to prevent eavesdropping. Our website is secured via HTTPS.
- Access Controls: Personal information is stored on secure servers, and we limit access to those employees, contractors, or service providers who need the information to perform their duties. All such personnel are subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Firewalls & Monitoring: We use firewalls and security monitoring tools to protect our network and detect any intrusions or vulnerabilities.
- Training & Policies: Our staff is trained on data privacy and security best practices. We have internal policies to prevent unauthorized sharing of customer data.
While we strive to protect your information, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we continuously review and enhance our security practices to meet or exceed industry standards and to address emerging threats. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and appropriate authorities as required by law.
Your Choices and Opt-Out Options
We believe in giving you clear choices regarding your personal information and how we communicate with you. You have the following options and rights:
- Reviewing and Updating Your Information: If you would like to review, correct, or update any personal information you have provided to us (such as your contact details), please contact us using the information in the Contact Us section. We will honor reasonable requests to access and update information we hold about you.
- Opt-Out of Email Marketing: If you receive marketing or promotional emails from us, you can opt out at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of those emails. Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you promotional emails. (Please note that even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you transactional or service-related communications, such as invoices, quotes, or project updates, as those are not marketing messages.)
- Opt-Out of Text Messages: As described in the SMS Communications and Consent section, you can opt out of text messaging at any time by replying “STOP” to our message, or by emailing “STOP” to admin@truline.org. We respect all opt-out requests and will not send further texts once you have opted out.
- Declining Cookies: Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies or alert you when cookies are being used. If you choose to disable cookies, some parts of our website may not function optimally, but you will still be able to access most features.
- Do Not Track Signals: Our website currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. However, we only collect limited browsing data as described above.
- California/State Privacy Rights: If you are a resident of California or another state that grants specific privacy rights, you may have additional rights such as requesting information about how we disclose personal data or asking that we delete your personal information. We will honor any rights provided to you under applicable law. To exercise these rights, please contact us as described below.
Compliance with SMS Marketing Guidelines
Truline is dedicated to complying with all relevant laws and guidelines for SMS marketing and communications. We follow the principles outlined in the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and ensure our text messaging program meets the requirements of major mobile carriers for A2P (application-to-person) messaging. This includes maintaining a clear opt-in record for each customer, providing an easy opt-out mechanism, and refraining from sending prohibited content or unsolicited messages. Our privacy practices align with these standards—protecting your consent info and giving you control—as part of our compliance efforts to deliver a positive messaging experience to our customers. In short, you can trust that any text message you receive from us was sent with your permission and in accordance with industry regulations designed to safeguard your privacy and preferences.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. If the changes are significant, we may also provide a more prominent notice (such as on our website homepage or via email or text message notification). We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of our services after any update to this Policy will signify your acceptance of the changes.
